The Vehicle Line Coordinator Support personnel works full-time at the Michigan Proving Grounds (MPG) in Romeo (Department T630).
The VLC support position will support some of the testing being conducted at MPG.
The primary duty of the VLC support staff is to support the Durability test coordination.
The coordinator will be expected to work with local employees (represented and non-represented Ford personnel, as well as non-Ford personnel) and communicate with testing, engineering, and management teams.
This position is for a crew pattern and requires a flexible working schedule.
This is a union-represented salaried position.
You'll Have…
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Proficient in utilizing MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Capable of obtaining a Tier II driver rating (required)
Strong Mechanical background and knowledge
Able and willing to work flexible hours and holidays as necessary to support testing.
Solid organizational skills including proven ability to multi-task.
Ability to work independently without specific direction.
Even Better You'll Have…
ASE certifications (preferred)
Two years experience in Proving Ground vehicle testing (preferred)
Proficient in utilizing ELMS (preferred)
Proficient in utilizing DURIS (preferred)
Able and willing to learn new software applications
Excellent problem-solving skills
What You'll Do…
Responsibilities for Candidates may vary and include but are not limited to:
Monitor/Track vehicle progress
Advise Drivers with proper priority of vehicles ensuring the priority list is being followed and assist with changes if necessary
Monitor and periodically update DURIS and ELMS vehicle & test asset tracking systems with status and data information packages
Support writing work requests for all areas of MPG testing for issues that may arise during testing
Coordinate and communicate with various other proving grounds groups ensuring testing and information collection is accurate and efficient
Support special tests by creating test planning (book & board) for track or dyno when required
Verify the proper information is cascaded in work plans and add or adjust the plan if needed
Review Data packs with the garage and notify the DSE and VLCs if concerns are noted
Take photos of issues found on off-shifts and provide documentation to the engineering
Send text notifications to the durability team when the issue(s) are found and the vehicle is taken off of the test
Understand proving ground processes and safety protocol
Support end-of-test items like the shipping and releases of test vehicles in ELMS.
Support other test needs as required by the unit workload
