You are important to us, so that means following all assigned responsibilities according to established safety & security policies, guidelines, and legal regulations will provide you a safe working environment.
The day-to-day Your day begins at 5:30 pm and ends around 2:00 am, but could vary sometimes based on the needs of the team.
Some days you will spend your entire shift in the warehouse and other days you will spend up to 50% of the shift doing deliveries in a 26ft box truck.
Picking, packing, and labeling products for shipment will be your contribution to maintaining a high functioning shipping operation.
The staging area is where your work is displayed and prepped for inspection.
You will partner with the load coordinator and work together in loading assigned trucks.
The warehouse is your domain, and you make sure that it is swept, trash emptied, and all equipment is maintained.
Loading/unloading, using a GPS device, unloading at customer locations, accepting returns, and maintaining a clean vehicle.
Sometimes you will be asked to fill in for your teammates for vacations or other leaves on different shifts; your strong work ethic and “do whatever it takes” attitude make you eager for additional responsibility.
What You Have The physical ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb, squat, bend, walk, and sit or stand for long periods of time.
You are not scared of computer or picking systems, and you are happy to learn ours.
You are proud to have a chauffeur’s license and DOT medical card with a good driving record (no more than 4 points).
You’ve seen some things and done some things.
You have experience driving a box truck in all seasons of the Michigan climate, and in both rural and urban settings.
You are familiar with and know how to use (or are happy to learn): lift gate, pallet jack, two-wheeled hand cart while driving the truck.
In the warehouse, you get to use all kinds of fun equipment: stand-up and sit-down forklifts, order pickers, clamp truck, and pallet jack.
At the counter, you will become a guru of our computer system.
Knowledge of all warehouse and DOT safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
