The heater is fairly new and worked great last time we used it, we custom shaped it to be closer to the bottom of the tank (see photo) because the way they are designed from the factory they set about 3 to 4 " above the bottom and we didn't like the idea of the horses drinking the water down far enough to expose the heater and burning it out so it now is closer to 1 " clearance.
So this is a one of a kind !! This is used but the Rubbermaid brand tanks are really heavy duty, top quality, work as well as a new one and should last for many more years.
May be heavier and thicker than the newer ones.
These worked great for us even in cold Michigan winters and the heater always kept the water free of ice! Great for someone just starting out or needing to expand!!
