FREE 'New' E-Scooter - E1 Error Code, You Fix (Clarkston)

Bought this e-scooter as a 2023 Christmas gift.
It never moved out of the box.
E1 error code appeared on the onboard screen.
Saw some troubleshooting + repair advice online.
Since it was all too much for my brain, I initiated a return with Amazon.
Battery charges/d to full, no problem.
After some back and forth, Amz just credited my account and told me to keep the scooter AFTER I packaged it up thoroughly to ship back.
Grrrrr.
Anyway, I hate the thought of chucking this thing into the dumpster and sending it to the landfill if someone out there is handy enough to fix or use it for parts or whatever.
Scooter is suitable for kids or smaller adults up to 165 lbs per the specs.
There ARE some knicks on the bottom and damage to the handlebar cushion.
This came from when my kid tried using it the 1st time and it wouldn't stay upright because it couldn't go.
Scooter is currently still in its packaged return state, as you will see in the photos.
I took progress packaging photos so Amz would not accuse me of poor return efforts.
Package is unwieldy at 2' x 4' x 1', but not terribly heavy.
I apologize in advance for the DIY packaging inside.
It's a little crazy.
I threw away the original box on Xmas day.
