Duties
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents using document management systems
- Review and analyze legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Draft correspondence and communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness files
- Maintain calendars, schedule appointments, and manage attorney's caseload
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, filing, and managing correspondence
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate is preferred
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in legal research methods and using online legal databases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with document management systems and legal case management software (iManage preferred)
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Prior experience in a law firm of 5+ years required
- Municipal Law experience is preferred
