:
Our Deputy General Counsel will supporting our business with all regulatory and legal matters.
They will be responsible for overseeing all employment related cases as well as commercial and working with UWM Executives on immigration and human resource matters.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Providing business support on a variety of regulatory and legal matters
Experience in overseeing and litigating employment cases and complex commercial matters
Advising Company executives in immigration and human resource matters
Supervising outside lawyers hired to assist the Company with legal services
Reviewing, drafting and negotiating business contracts
Interpreting legislation and regulations affecting mortgage brokers and lenders
Reviewing business relationships with vendors
Overseeing the Company’s legal objectives
Conducting legal research on unique legal issues impacting the organization
Keeping abreast of legislative changes that may affect the Company
Performing pre-litigation work to minimize risks and maximize legal rights
Reviewing advertising and marketing materials to ensure compliance with legal requirements
Developing solutions to complex legal questions
Providing legal training to Company team members
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
Must Have Qualifications:
Michigan bar licensed attorney
7+ years of experience performing corporate legal work
Experience in the mortgage banking, banking, or financial industry preferred
Strong leadership and communication skills
Have effective planning, organizational and project management skills
Be able to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively
Have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
Have excellent written and communication skills
Have the ability to work independently
Have critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills.
Be self-motivated and able to work well in a team based environment
