Our Claims team is currently seeking an PIP Litigation Adjuster for our Howell, MI - Southfield, MI and Grand Rapids, MI locations.
This is a full time, Hybrid work model, exempt role.
POSITION OVERVIEW: Responsible for the handling of litigated cases involving claim disputes.
This position works in partnership with defense counsel to resolve litigation.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL: • Have or secure and maintain appropriate states adjuster license (s) and continuing education credits.
• Responsible for the settlement of litigated cases, involving disputes over coverage, liability, and damages issues.
• Gather the facts and analyze the statements/testimony and declaration of damages to develop claims resolution strategies.
• Handle Claims that are transferred existing losses or first notice lawsuits over disputed issues which require a high level of investigation, analysis, evaluation and negotiation • Maintain a keen foresight into claims depth to accurately adjust reserves based on new information over the cycle time of an exposure • Work in partnership with defense counsel and field adjusters to bring about a timely cost effective conclusion.

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY: • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience • Typically has 5 – 8 years’ experience • Possess strong customer service skills • Makes decisions in an informed, confident and timely manner • Strong organizational and time management skills • Ability to negotiate skillfully in difficult situations with both internal and external groups • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Appropriate understanding of applicable Statutes, Regulations and Case Law • Thinks critically, anticipates, recognizes, identifies and develops solutions to problems in a timely manner • Operates with latitude for un-reviewed action or decisions • Computer experience (MS Office, Excel, Word, etc) • Proficient using a paperless Claims System This job posting provides cursory examples of some of the job duties associated with this position.
