*Job title* _Mechanical Team Leader_ *Reports to* _Integration Supervisor_ *Department* _Production Department_ *Job purpose* Mechanical Team Leader exists to support the integration supervisor in the complete mechanical assembly of engineered systems, in support of company’s mission, goals, and guiding principles.
The Mechanical Team Leader is responsible for the complete and thorough assembly of the mechanical aspects of our system builds.
Responsibilities include organizing and maintaining all details and mechanical purchase items called out on all mechanical unit bill of materials, assigning priorities, and tasks to assigned technicians.
*Duties and responsibilities* * Assembly of sub-components into final products in an efficient and quality manner.
* Ability to read & understand blueprints for specific details and system layout drawings.
* Basic plumbing of high pressure & pneumatic systems.
* Ability to fabricate or modify parts as needed, mostly in the field.
* Assign build tasks and communicate goals and expectations to team members.
* Conduct weekly meetings with mechanical team members.
* Develop written standards for the system builds.
* Verify all build components are accounted for and organized and ready for assembly, maintain missing parts list and submit to appropriate departments.
* Responsible for the system layout on integration floor and customer’s site * Ensure robots are placed in the correct configuration utilizing controls drawing layout * Torque sheets are required for robots and drive packages, they must be turned into the Integration Supervisor once the job is mechanical built.
* Maintain a neat and orderly area around the system builds and integration floor.
Ensure that the job carts are clean & organized and locked at the end of each shift.
* Complete comprehensive system checks at internal run off.
Must verify that the systems meet or exceed the mechanical build requirements.
* Flexibility to work off shifts including nights as required.
* Responsible for maintaining good relationships with peers, customers & vendors.
* Responsible for the tear down and packaging of all systems.
* Loading of robotic systems and miscellaneous pallets on the semi –trucks.
Ensure that the equipment is protected properly to prevent damages.
* Supervise riggers when hired to help with the tear down and installation of our systems to prevent damages and ensure that the systems are re-assembled in a quality manner.
* Communicate all mechanical system changes (ECN) to appropriate individuals.
* Ensure that team members are wearing the proper PPE and following safety procedures.
* Special projects as assigned by the integration supervisor.
*Qualifications* * Minimum of 5 years machine build experience * High School Diploma/GED * Experienced / licensed forklift and overhead crane operator.
* Possess valid driver’s license and passport for international travel.
* Knowledge of industry standards * Enforce company policies and procedures * Ability to read Auto Cad and Solid Works drawings.
* Must have general computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office programs * Must have strong communication skills and the ability to train and mentor staff * Must possess strong organizational skills and demonstrate the ability to oversee multiple projects * Must be willing & able to travel out of state and internationally via land or air * Knowledge of various measuring devices such as, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, inside hole micrometers, levels, and torque wrenches * Possess own tools * Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
*Physical requirements* · Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks may be required · Must have manual dexterity · Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
· May be required to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electrical/electronic components.
· Must wear safety glasses and safety boots · Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
· Must be able to bend, squat, stoop, kneel, and perform moderate lifting.
