Bloomfield Township is looking for a Treasury Manager.
Our hours of operation are Monday through Thursday 7:00am to 5:30pm.

*GENERAL SUMMARY*
Manages the accurate, prompt receipt and processing of all Township payments; responds to property tax and water/sewer billing questions; assists the Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer in fulfilling the objectives of the Treasury Department.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES*

· Oversees and ensures the accurate processing of all payments made to the Township.
· Secures the cash drawers and other methods of payment on the Treasurer’s behalf.
· Balances daily totals against receipts to ensure accuracy.
· Works with the Accounting department to document payments received each day.
· Answers residents’ and customers’ questions related to water/sewer and property tax bills.
· Collaborates with the Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer in finalizing tax settlement with the county each year.
· Ensures accurate and timely water/sewer billing cooperation with the DPW Department.
· Maintains electronic records of residents’ and customers’ names, addresses, and contact information, as well as customers’ banking information for automatic withdrawals.
· Manages the mail for the Treasurer’s Office.
· Updates addresses and researches new addresses for undeliverable mail.
· Performs administrative and clerical work associated with daily operations in the Treasurer’s Office.
· Manages the Treasury Assistant(s), providing direction, training and processing leave requests.
· Performs other duties as requested by the Treasurer and/or Deputy Treasurer.
*MINIMUM ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS*
*Education and Experience*
· Associate's Degree or 2 years of college from an accredited school with major course work in accounting, finance, or related field
· 3 to 5 years' relevant municipal treasury experience
· Any equivalent [SM1] combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities
*Licenses or Certifications*
Michigan Certified Professional Treasurer (MiCPT) or willingness to acquire
*COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF JOB DUTIES*
*Knowledge of:*
· Basic accounting principles and software
· Michigan property tax laws, mortgage companies, and escrows
· English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and proper phone etiquette
· Modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment
· Relevant Bloomfield Township policies and procedures
*Skill in:*
· Use of relevant computer software as necessary, including BS&A, Microsoft Excel and Word
· Customer service and deescalating conflict with residents and customers
· Quantitative analysis of data, with attention to detail and catching discrepancies
*Ability to:*
· Count and handle large sums of cash
· Communicate effectively orally and in writing
· Meet schedules and deadlines of the work
· Perform and complete multiple duties concurrently and in a timely manner

Pay: $51,277.
