Summary: The Compression Engineer Manager is responsible for overseeing all project activities related to all new products and changes of existing products, which leads to improved productivity and reduced cost.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Actively participate in new technology development.
Assist teams in development of processes, projects, and creates supporting documentation.
Budgeting of projects and control of costs within set budgets and timing.
Review, develop, and improve processes.
Assist manufacturing and engineering activities.
Assume leadership role for training and implementation of equipment and process.
Ensures development using the Lean Manufacturing method.
Must be willing to work unscheduled overtime and up to being called in on the off shift so the company meets timeline requirements.
Interdepartmental communication and training of personnel.
Track and improve performance of the engineering department.
Develop cost saving ideas that exceed the established goals.
Attend any training required by his/her manager.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by management to maintain and operate a safe, efficient, and quality conscious operation.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
5+ years of experience, preferable in automotive or automotive supplier industry, high volume industrial manufacturing operations Additionally, at least 3 -5 years of experience in a supervisory role with direct reports.
