The HR Manager will work with the Facility Leadership and the Division HR function to provide the facility with Human Resource services.
He/she is responsible for understanding the business needs of the facility and then translating those needs into HR services to ensure the facility benefits from strategic Human Resource services and standardized processes.
He/she is responsible for ensuring both the needs of the business and the needs of the people are met while driving Company’s standardized processes into the facility.
He/she is also responsible for driving the strategic labor activities and initiatives as it relates to Union Management and Labor Relations
Job Responsibilities:
• Ensure implementation of Company policies and standardized processes within the Company facility(ies)
• Assist in defining facility strategies (i.
e.
training, safety, compliance, labor)
• Deploy strategies and programs as designed by the Company
• Provide feedback to the Facility Leadership, Function and Customers to ensure business needs are met
• Lead positive employee relations programs in the facility
• Provide strategic HR solutions to plant manager and staff
• Assist and facilitate employee development programs from Company Organization Development & Learning Centers of Excellence
• Facilitate issue resolution between employees and managers, as required
• Perform employee and labor relations duties, including grievance procedures, where applicable
• Coordinate staffing activities (including recruiting, selections, and placement) for the location
• Act as a consultant to Business Leaders for Human Resource issues (i.
e.
, career development, staffing, discipline, performance and talent management)
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of progressive experience as HR generalist in manufacturing facility.
Union facility experience required.
• Certification in Professional Human Resources (i.
e.
PHR) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Analyze HR metrics and create and implement action plans based on those metrics in line with the Function and/or business objectives
• Ensure development and implementation of training strategy
• Work collaboratively with Lean initiatives to ensure success of continuous improvement
• Help coordinate employee involvement and community involvement teams and/or programs
• Ensure that Affirmative Action plans are in place and implemented: Participate in any OFCCP audits (US Only)
• Coordinate facility(s)’s communication efforts (i.
e.
, newsletters, plant meetings, etc)
• Ensure orientation and induction for newly hired employees and contractors is completed
• Perform internal investigations, prepare necessary documentation, and testify at hearings, as required
• Work with Health & Safety professional to ensure implementation of health & safety programs
• Work collaboratively with geographic lead to ensure alignment process to region
• Implement diversity strategy within the facility(ies)
• May be required to work extended hours on occasion.
• This job requires travel that may be for extended periods.
