Job Summary The Field Exam Manager will oversee all aspects of the field exam function, including scheduling, quality control and third party outsource engagement.
Primary Responsibilities • Document appropriate processes and procedures for building an effective field exam department.
• Recruit, develop and manage new field exam hires to support first line of risk mitigation for OCF and Bank.
• Perform field exams and surveys as needed to support new business and ensure appropriate credit risk is maintained.
• Identify training needs for OCF field exam department including; designing and delivering training program, and evaluating their effectiveness to ensure employees’ training growth aligns with company goals.
• Directly oversee training and development program for new field exam hires.
Work with Oxford Bank on opportunities to pursue inter-bank employee “sharing” as those situations present themselves.
• Recruitment of potential candidates including the development of a “Summer Internship” program in coordination with the Human Resources Recruiting team.
• Coordinate with Head of Credit for Business Banking to develop a cross-training program for college graduates that are hired as field examiners with OCF or Credit Analyst for Business Banking.
• Maintain quality of third-party exam providers by vetting new preferred vendors.
• Schedule pre-funding surveys and recurring field exams • Review survey and recurring field exams performed by internal and contract field examiners.
• Support new business development and underwriting by conducting survey field exams as required.
• Conduct recurring field exams and provide on-site “boots on the ground” for workout situations as required.
• Ad hoc duties and responsibilities as outlined between manager and employee.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner.
• Proven track record of managing and growing a field exam department.
• Knowledge of commercial lending with a focus on commercial finance, Asset Based lending and/or Factoring.
• Organization and attention to detail is required in order to manage the numerous responsibilities of the position.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required in order to effectively communicate with a myriad of stakeholders.
• Must be willing to travel.
Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree is preferred with a concentration in accounting or finance.
• Minimum of five years’ experience as an ABL field examiner and, minimum of five years’ experience managing a field exam department.
*This position will comply with all BSA compliance laws and regulations including the Bank’s BSA policy and procedures.
