Location: Davison, MI
Reports to: Director of Fleet
Job Summary: The Fleet Manager will oversee the allocation of all fleeted equipment throughout the organization, based on utilization, customer specifications, project schedules, operational needs, and market trends, and coordinate the logistical movement of all fleet assets.
The Fleet Manager will also serve as a working team member and individual contributor to the overall team’s success.
Responsibilities:
Lead regular equipment “needs calls”, identifying branch equipment needs and ensuring the on-time, accurate delivery of every project
Review and approve all intercompany asset transfers, ensuring adherence to company standards and optimizing efficiency
Develop and maintain min, max, and safety stock levels for all fleet equipment at all branch locations
Forecast future equipment needs, utilizing input from branch management & operations teams, fleet utilization data, market trends, etc.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures and work instructions pertaining to the management of the rental fleet
Oversee the data entry and integrity relating to fleet assets
Manage the Logistics Department at the Davison, MI facility
Ensure all branch locations have adequate tools, supplies, and training to complete work safely and efficiently
Partner with Safety Department to drive compliance with DOT & safety regulations in all branch locations
Act as a dotted line report to all Branch Logistics & Operations Managers ensuring compliance to all Fleet / Logistics standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Partner with Purchasing to order fleet assets and accessories as needed
Monitor pump utilization data and identify opportunities to optimize asset allocation and minimize downtime
Ensure that The Mersino Way is a guiding document in all daily activities
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Management or a related field of study, or equivalent experience in Fleet Management or related field
5+ years of experience of management experience
Planning and organizational skills in handling multiple projects
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to travel up to 50%
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
