The Product Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing market product mix and program strategies.
This position is a hybrid function between Purchasing and Sales, accountable for overall category management, and assisting with sales support and margin growth.
Responsibilities:
Manage cost of goods reduction within the market with emphasis on increasing Bunzl imports and private brands.
Negotiate vendor costs for market parity.
Negotiate local vendor market programs without adding to cost of goods.
Sales team category point of contact.
SCR point of contact.
Alignment with the Division Strategic Category Management team.
Sourcing of new vendors and products.
Manage all product launches within a category management structure.
Vendor and SKU rationalization
120-day and aged inventories disposition.
Implementation and execution of all CLI’s.
Manage New Item Request process for the market of assigned categories.
Ecomm compliance.
Sales training for product knowledge development and marketing support
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree preferred
5+ years experience in purchasing or relevant business experience is required; preferably in a distribution environment
Must have proven experience negotiating with vendors
Proficiency with Excel and working knowledge of Word and Power Point
Must possess strong planning, organizational and time management skills as well as strong analytical problem solving skills
Must be able to multi-task with the ability to change direction quickly and often
AS400 experience is highly preferred
