The Market Segment Manager is tasked with developing and executing strategies for our Automotive Segments “Electric Vehicles” and “Connected Interiors”.
This involves goal setting, action planning, and resource mobilization across departments such as R&D, Manufacturing, Sales, and Product Management.
Key responsibilities include identifying unique value propositions, fostering innovation, and understanding customer needs to enhance market share.
The main objectives are to innovate new products, enhance sales project success rates, and oversee projects from concept to successful implementation.
What you will do:
Market Segment & Annual Business Plan (Strategy)
Collaborate closely with global Market Segment, Sales, Product Management, and Digital Marketing Teams to develop and execute Market Segment Plans for allocated focus customers.
Ensure realistic planning of PNS growth through annual adjustments, incorporating Go-To-Market activities derived from the market segment plan for the focus customers.

Account-based Marketing (incl.
KPIs):
Generate Customer Insights by building an external network, engaging with customers, and analyzing relevant market research data (e.
g.
, LMC, A2MAC1, etc.
).
Define tailored marketing campaigns for strategic market segments, aiming to generate new customer contacts, optimize the distribution of new solutions, and improve sales closing rates.
Collaborate closely with the Digital Marketing Team to execute these campaigns and oversee the preparation and execution of key customer events.
Innovation - New product launches
Collaborate closely with R&D and sales to propose and qualify new business cases in the innovation pipeline (Ideation & Qualification).
Efficiently launch new solutions to the market and focus customers based on the market segment plan through effective deployment strategies
Projects - Support customers projects
Directly engages in major customer projects, defining strategies, persuading buying center functions, refining technical and commercial arguments, and providing necessary support
What you will need:
Bachelor’s degree in business, mechanical engineering, chemistry, materials science or equivalent.
MBA is a plus.
Minimum of five years of combined engineering, strategy, marketing and/or product segment experience in automotive industry.
Demonstrated strong analytical skills
Must have strong strategic thinking, organizational and critical thinking skills with a bias towards action.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel, and experience with CRM software packages
Must be able and willing to travel 50%
Ability to speak another language is a plus.
Comfort working across borders is a must.
Excellent communication skills and ability work effectively in cross functional teams
