As a Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently obtaining and processing medical billing and record requests, and ensuring timely presentment to insurance carriers.
This role requires strong knowledge of medical coding, billing procedures, and insurance guidelines.
We are a fast-growing personal injury law firm representing both injured people and corporate clients.

```Duties```
- Review and verify accuracy of billing data and medical records
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, including ICD-10 and ICD-9 codes
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims
- Resolve billing discrepancies and answer inquiries from clients, patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers
- Maintain patient records and update billing information as needed
- Collaborate with our corporate clients to ensure accurate documentation and coding
- Assist with compiling outstanding medical bills and engage in phone communications as necessary
```Qualifications```
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical billing or coding is preferred
- Proven experience as a Billing Specialist or similar role in a medical or legal setting
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9)
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and insurance guidelines
- Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and billing software
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
