The Community and Awareness Specialist plans, organizes, and implements volunteer and event related initiatives to serve the needs of Easterseals MORC through strategic initiatives focused on stewardship, fundraising, communications, brand awareness, administrative, and programmatic activities.
The Community and Awareness Specialist collaborates and supports awareness efforts to educate and further establish Easterseals MORC’s brand in Michigan.
Event Coordination o Coordinates and assigns duties for volunteers for all Easterseals MORC community events.
o Attends major Easterseals MORC fundraising events and acts as a liaison for volunteers on site.
o Gathers event materials and prepares for all community awareness events and info sessions that Easterseals MORC attends.
o Creates an inventory tracking system for all Easterseals MORC branded giveaways and collateral.
o Manages and updates our internal Community Events Calendar to track our presence at events.
In addition, event details, staff attending, and any other logistical or marketing needs will be gathered and tracked.
Community and Staff Education Collaborates with outreach committee members to discuss upcoming community engagements/events, community outreach needs, and other branding/marketing updates.
Provides volunteer program updates.
Leads execution of staff newsletter and collaborates with team members to gather content for each bi-monthly edition.
Additionally, the individual in this role will work with an external designer to complete this project.
Promotes Easterseals MORC services, programs, and brand by educating community members and staff.

o Collaborates with Marketing team to effectively create and carry out awareness campaigns throughout the year.
o Researches and creates content for holidays and awareness days/weeks/months, reflective of Easterseals MORC branding, to be posted on social media channels.
o Researches and evaluates marketing strategies to find effective ways to market various programs, services, and events at Easterseals MORC.
o Contributes to the ongoing development of marketing message and materials to further establish Easterseals MORC’s brand in Michigan.
Volunteer Program o Responds to all volunteer enquiries (for Easterseals MORC, Miracle League of Michigan, etc.
) via phone, email, and in person.
o Creates and implements a volunteer on-boarding process to streamline the ease of reporting volunteer hours and enhances volunteer experience.
§ Collaborates with Human Resources department to ensure volunteers complete a proper background check.
o Advertises and recruits new volunteer opportunities through volunteer websites, local colleges, community groups, etc.

o Communicates with past, present, and potential volunteers via platform (i.
e.
MailChimp) to share news, information, and upcoming volunteer opportunities.
o Develops and implements retention and recognition strategies for volunteers.
o Recruit and manage volunteers at all Easterseals MORC community events.
o Oversee administrative support to the Volunteer program.
